KOSO architekti was founded in 2025 by Filip Kotlář and Ondřej Soukup. Both partners bring experience gained in both Czech and international environments to their joint practice. Filip Kotlář graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague, and Ondřej Soukup from ETH Zürich.

Throughout their academic and professional careers, they have worked in architectural offices in Prague, Munich, Hamburg, and Basel, collaborating with studios such as N-V-O Architekten, RHWZ Architekten, Buol & Zünd Architekten, Standke Architekten, A.D.N.S. architekti, A69 Architekti, and the office of Pavel Hnilička.

The core of our work lies in original design and uncovering the essence of every project. We strive to rethink each brief from scratch, without relying on pre-set formulas. We are interested in space, its context, and the atmosphere of the location. We work with materials in their natural and honest state. We are fascinated by their surfaces, the light they reflect, and the way they age. We pay close attention to detail, quality, and craftsmanship. We seek architecture that is contemporary, authentic, and honest—architecture that emerges from its site while bringing something new to it.

We collaborate on projects with experts from various fields—engineers, technicians, urban planners, landscape architects, environmentalists, and artists. We do not view the team as a fixed structure, but rather as an integral part of each specific project. Together, we seek solutions from the overall concept down to the final detail and its actual execution.

Our clients include private investors, companies, institutions, and public authorities. We design family homes, residential buildings, renovations, public spaces, and urban studies, with an emphasis on environmental quality and a responsible approach to the site.
